My Scaredy.. Dogs?
Major storm down here in Miami (what else is new in the summer), so my pups are acting like whiney babies all scared of the thunder. Presenting, Mocha and Frankieface:

Nap time with the babies

when I don't pay attention to Frankie he swats at my arm with his paw till I tell him he's still my little monster (fat monster)

A Conversation
Meet my bestie, Whiz. Her and I do basically everything together all day everyday. We live less than a mile apart, and not only is she one of the coolest people you'll ever meet, but she's become quite the gourmet chef in the past few months, using me and her roomie Christian as guinea pigs, which makes all of us quite happy!

Things we do range from hanging out at the Standard pool, go to public libraries, rage out on Saturday nights, dress each other in outrageous outfits, talk about boys and their dependance on women, cause trouble during classes at UM that are WAY too early anyway, and watch Project Runway and Weeds like its the fucking televised version of the bible.
Basically we are goofballs with attitude, modern feminist go-getters, Bowie-worshipping-present-day 80's princesses that like to listen to music on vinyl, drink cheap sparkling wine, and smoke the occasional hippie lettuce together. Here is one of our conversations that I stumbled upon in the amazing moleskin book she gave to me before I left for New York:
Whiz: Yo I can't find my phone. Can you call it?
Lex: Sure. Wait, I can't find mine.
Whiz: Oh, I found mine.
Lex: Oh, me too. It was under my bag.
Whiz: Stoners.
But our conversations are not always this silly. And the things we do together sometimes bring me to thinking more about life, art, music, and personalities.
We went on Art Walk a few weeks ago and as we went through the different galleries sipping whatever free booze our thirsty hands landed upon, we stumbled upon this quote:
"I was running a great race before you tripped me."
And at that moment in time, that was a great quote for my life post-New York. I turned that into:
"I was running a great race before... you inspired me. And now my head's right and my writing hand is back and I'm ready to take your bullshit. Wearing clothes that aren't mine, the world is a vampire. Breathe when you think you're suffocating, in the damp heat, don't gasp, breathe normally because it's not as bad as you have it imagined in your head. Yet I still believe that I cannot be saved...With Cobain singing to me in the car on the way to the key, cold-plunged the negativity away, life's toxins released with the shock of the ice cold water."
Written after a day at the Standard spa and pool, where these pics were taken:

So that's my homegirl! The classy piss-drunk, the talented, artsy stoner, the skinny gourmet chef, the outdoorsy girly girl, the home away from home!

Little Girl vs. Claw Machine
I'm not even mad! I'm impressed! This is just too good. And if I was that little, I'd definitely hang out in claw machines.... what? You wouldn't?

Lovely, Lovely Night.
As hilariously ironic juxtaposition to the post that my dear buddy Pagina wrote last night, I am going to finally fucking say it and mean it. I had one of the best nights I've had in a really long time. Wine, amazing music, even better company, conversations I've been wanting to have, sushi, relaxing... So fucking worth the drive. And anyone that's close to me knows how nervous I was. I have remembered why I live my life the way I do. Taking risks, a leap of faith perhaps... Sometimes turns out to hurt like hell, but in this case, I am glad to be the chick I am today, making spontaneity a way of life, for better or for worse.
Yeeeeeesh.... serious post... I know noone likes these. Don't. Care.

Ham Sandwich for Brunch?
Hell no!! Not after seeing this little guy. Thanks to my dashingly handsome and charming buddy, Jose, I am pretty sure I have just completed my total transformation into a vegetarian.
So apparently, little "Cinders," was discovered by his owners to be afraid of mud. Yes, a pig that is afraid of mud. So they took a pair of boots from a Paddington Teddy Bear and put these precious piggie feet into the plastic rainboots. I mean, honestly, how fucking amazing is this? This is from Best Week Ever's blog.

Speaking of cute things, gawker.com just blogged about the "Cute epidemic," which seems to be making even the manliest men let out a little "awww!" In the manliest way possible of course. I can name on 10 fingers (which also do not like dirty things, maybe I should invest in some finger condoms) my grownass friends that have sent me links to cute kitty pics and aww-able youtube videos of cutesy bullshit.
I happen to love it. And my favorite of these websites is definitely Icanhascheezburger.com which has admittedly passed hours of my boring days at the office. I mean, really... how can you not love this:

Oh and just in case you share Cinders and my loathing of dirt, here are some finger condoms. This is my friend Fanny. She changes them hourly.

Ha I think I'd be friends with her.
