1. Wow @ those old pictures... I knew Dustin was hiding them somewhere. That night was fucking epic. We barely escaped a police bust at the world's quietest afterparty by hopping into an escape car... A BMW convertible that our friend just happened to be driving. Oh yeah, that's after I hid in the pantry next to the kitty litter. But I digress. 2. Paige is coming to Miami on Thursday, and every time I think about it, I pee myself a little bit. 3. I'm going running today for the first time in a *LONG* time. 4 miles used to be a breeze for me, let's see how it goes... If I make it out alive, I'll be sure to let the loyal BFB readers how it goes :) 4. These next 2 weeks are going to actually be AMAZING. 5. Halloween? Considering most of my friends are going to be out of town for my FAVORITE holiday of the year, I'm thinkin I need to do some serious planning instead of procrastinating as I normally do. Last year was retardedly amazing. Jane Fonda + Slutty Baseball player Paige = 3 nights of halloween amazingness. Ideas, anyone? 6. Dustin Edward Photography!!! You guys need to check out the awesome work of this cutie pie! It's the first link on the links on the righthand side. His photos are the ones that Paige posted below! Check out the site and while you're at it, check out Jason Tyler's myspace page for some jams, also on the list of links!
What the fuck... who would break into a record store that has done nothing but supplied the music-conscious city of Miami with obscure music and organic coffee? This wasn't a Spec's or a Best Buy, this was a shop that has so much heart. Sweat Records, to me, is a place that when I venture over there, I find myself lost in music that I'd never find in a typical cd shop. I find toys, art, and meet people that appreciate things that most people don't. It's heart breaking to know that people scoped this shop out, and decided it'd make a good target to steal from and vandalize. My best wishes are with Lolo, Jason, and the rest of the Sweat family.
Ugh.
So tonight was cool. I went to Monte's house with Whit where they prepared a spicy Stir Fry dinner we watched some Monday Night Football. I hope someday when I have my own place I can learn how to cook like Whiz. Always a thoughtful preparation of crazy ingredients that somehow end up being awesome! French fries cooked with melted cheese, bacon and jalapenos? Just another night with my favorite couple ever!
Anyway, I made a venture out to the White Room tonight, completely randomly, and had a great time. Started out sitting by myself at the bar listening to some great indie rock selections, then ran into the usual suspects and spent a bit too much money and got a little drunker than I expected. Who am I kidding... I know the way these random nights always end up playing out! Rafael spun the best set through the time I was there, banging out the electro dance music that made the underaged hipsters twirl around and spend money on over-priced booze. Props to Andrews and crew for a sweet dance party on a Monday night. Only in Miami can you pack a (small, but who cares?) venue on a Monday night, dancing, drinking, and rocking out. Sweet.
Then I attended a private acoustic concert which made my night! Great thoughtful songs, and awesome company.
Now I'm back at home, wondering how the time passed so quickly, and trying to figure out how I had the audacity to do something like this on a Monday. Eh, whatever. Ya only live once.
Last night, by the way, I watched the Labyrinth and the Goonies, by request of Whiz and they were both amazing! Watched the Labyrinth first, and it only escalated my love for Jim Hensen, David Bowie, and goblins. The Goonies was like nothing I've ever watched before... I'd describe it as a bunch of smart-mouthed kids risking their lives to find One-Eyed Willy's hidden treasure, while somehow making me wish I lived in the 80's for more than just 3 years. Great movies, I highly suggest them to anyone that's at least half as cool as I am. Think about it.
Ha! Leaving with something Whiz told me I should watch... pretty fucking hysterical:
After quite a long night of skateboarding with Christian at retarded hours, there is absolutely nothing (not even still feeling a little crappy) that can make me miss LA Riots @ The Vagabond tonight. There's no cover before 11 and $1 PBRs---- Um.... I smell shitardedness in the future... It's too bad that no matter how awful shape I am in tomorrow morning, I have to drive up with my family to Orlando for my cousins engagement party. It's going to be a lot of fun, I just hope I can take the car ride up there hahahah.... that should be interesting. Miami, don't miss this!
Everyone knows the Pagina by night... the well-dressed, chi'ed-hair, the flawless makeup, the heels, the boobs (mechanical advantage 6 and count nauticals von poop tooth).... Like this:
But here is PAGINA EXPOSED!!!!! After all the glamour from the night before and all that it entails... this is the reason why my I love my Pagina!!!!! Video chatting with a happy hungover Pagina and her pizza
She lives on coke....: And she's really a BrainEater mwahahahah:
And lastly..... She's gonna kill me....
There you have it. It's not all glitz and glamour for this Brooklynite.... She does wake up hungover just like you and I ... and she puts one boob into her bra at a time... just like you and I.
So last night at the request of Little Whizzle, my buddies and I went to The Standard hotel on Miami Beach to partake in a hobby of mine, Sunday Night "Not Your Grandmother's Bingo." This started a while back, and I cannot believe how packed it was! I remember back in the day when people didn't really know about it and I certainly didn't have to sit on the floor because there was no more room in the lobby. But nevertheless, packed night, great music, me never winning as usual.
Until.... after a few hours of sweating due to no air conditioning, and a numb lower half of my body due to sitting on a hard floor for so long, I realized... Holy Shat!!! Bingo!
So I went up there hoping my prize would be a bar tab, or something along the lines of that. And what do they give me? The totally half naked lady gives little old me a WEEK membership to the hotel and spa! Yeah.... um.... awesome? Way better than the free "Rub N' Scrub," masage that Monte won. High Five!!
Here's a quick list of the places that I loved the MOST in NY!
1. The Slaughtered Lamb
2. The Trash Bar Basement!
3. Double Down... where a mechanic pony fell in love with Pagina...
4. Lost and Found because it was a. across the street from my home and b. the skee ball is competitive c. you can find this stoner drinking $3 stellas that comes with a free hotdog!
5. Rooftop in Greenpoint Brooklyn... where everything from swimming laps in a blow up pool to robbery on National Holidays goes down:
Thursday I'm off to the most beautiful little town in the entire universe, Telluride, Colorado. Not only am I excited to see Jaelyn but I really can't wait to see the town which I only know for its snow-covered mountains, friendly locals, and amazing snowboarding. This place is the most magical, humbling city in the world. It's tiny... 2,220 people live there. From mountain village you have to get on a gondola that goes over the mountain and down the other side into town:
There's something about this town that I can't put my finger on, but it's just breath-taking. If you don't like nature, you will when you're in Telluride. If you can't enjoy a beautiful sunset, it will give you the chills. And I cannot wait to see the GREEN Telluride during the summer, which I have been hearing so much about. Jaelyn and I are going to some music festival while I'm there too. Here are some shots I took from this past winter:
The view of the sunset from Jaelyn's dad's house: On the chair lift during winter: Dylan, a Telluride local, and I at the coolest bar in town, The Last Dollar Saloon Jaelyn and I at the top of a mountain: Mountain face: And here's the link to a facebook video of an amazing beer spill and cool shots of the view of the house im staying in! http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1005047689548&subj=10610315
You know those Capcha codes on myspace, the ones that prevent robotic spam machines from posting about the dick-growing pills or the macy's giftcards? Like this:
I sorta feel like those are not actually for spam, but to prevent drunk myspacing... I feel like the code that's usually something like A6Gdy7C should actually say "CLoSe YOur DamN MAc N go 2bEd DiCk."
So Jake just left yesterday morning, and after three nights of crazy partying, one bat mitzvah, and many smokes later, I am still alive.
The most shocking thing to happen this whole weekend? I actually have a video clip on my phone of Jake saying "I love Miami," completely sober. Wow... the New Yorker digs this place. I have a feeling it may have to do with his amazing tour guide: yours truly. :)
SO while the rest of the crew was in New York falling deeper into the addiction to ice pops, Jake and I cruised around Miami calling people out as we drove by, ate an AMAZING brunch at the Raleigh Hotel during a monsoon, drank Veuve Champagne at Poplife, and smoked a lot of fucking weed. Best part of Jake leaving? I couldn't even be sad because A. I was delirious from being up all night and B. Just 9 days left till I get to New York for my obnoxious 2 month stay in BK with my buds.
Here are some shots from the weekend, courtesy of 8mts and Popness Party!
@ Money $hot: sketchball/guido glasses: Our couch of the night: No pictures please! mmmm.... Ooo. I'm so fancy: I dont know where he puts the junk food he loves... He tried to pay me for sexual favors but I said his money is no good here. Drunken Air Guitar solo or gay lean? Guilty look hahah Sketchballs with champagne! The End! And did I mention how Jake KILLED IT on Friday with his fucking awesome electro set from 1am til I have no idea @ ps14? So glad he came, and everyone (shocking) loved him. Jake, Miami loves you, come back soon!!! :)
So Jake is on his way to Miami and I just had a silly video chat with Paige and Ryan about topics such as popsicles, sexual intercourse, and tap dancing. Yeah. My friends are cultured, I know.
Anyway, MIami, check out tomorrow night as Jake Destruction kills the stage at PS14 in downtown! I'll be there with my dancing shoes on, so if that's not reason enough to go, press the red "x" at the top of your screen to exit this blog.
